Pink Paislee class with Master Iris Uy!

It's Monday and I still have a hang-over of yesterday's PLAYTIME! The LB Scrapaholics' ladies attended another class of Iris Uy and this time, we used Pink Paislee's Daily Junque Collection, Crate Paper's chipboard, Prima flowers and a lot of gel mediums. We started scrapping at around 11 in the morning and finished at about 6 in the evening, with 5 quality pages DONE! I had chicken and egg sandwich, a slice of buco pie, chips and 2 bottles of drink... and I survived the 7-hour playtime! Here's what I came up with...

Just Us!... Pia and Mom Che sitting and having fun by the bay! I started to like using gel mediums because of this page. We put clear gradular gel on the corners of our tulle cloth and colored it with perfect pearls powders. Then we used pearl mica flakes on the body of our salmon butterfly. I wish I can do this page again!

This is Life!... Little Lorenzo's idea of enjoying life was putting his feet up and just have FUN! This was our second page. We used Gesso material here and opal dust to give shimmers. I love the mixing of mists and distressing on the edges of this page.

Free Days...This photo was shoot at the bay window of my hotel room when I visited Hong Kong a few days ago. I love this window, I can sit here forever... while scrapping of course! I was a bit confused in putting all the elements on this page, thought that layering will be a little difficult. But since I was just lifting, I finally made my own version. The pink bird cage was painted with acrylic dabber and glazed with opal dust.

Just Us... Lorenzo and I always find time together, they say he's my little shadow! Or should I say, he's my tail! Big effort on this page was cutting and I just enjoyed every piece that I cut. The butterfly on top right was dressed on acrylic dabbers topped with Ranger's embossing ink and blue and gold perfect pearls powder.

Threesome... These three kids will be the next generation in our family, hoping there will be more to come! The thrill of playing with this page was again the use of Ranger distress and embossing inks. The dragonfly was topped with perfect pearls powder and the gears were glazed with mini beads gel. I just love the masculine theme in this page, but still little Pia blended in.

Last week was storm time in the Philippines, sun came up only yesterday and so I did the laundry at once this morning. I was really looking forward to scrap and just create this weekend, good thing Iris' class was not postponed. Oh well, everybody at home is back to the grind... school days, assignments, rush hours! And I need to go now, need to study my lectures for tomorrow!

Thanks for looking as always!

Sketchabilities #49!

Sketch time once again and here's another take for Sketchabilities!

Game on!... This was part of Lorenzo's 7th Birthday album, I scrapped the photos of the kids while playing games during his party. They had ball relay, pasta challenge and pin the hat of Woody. It was fun just looking at them! I used here Scenic Route pps, DCWV cardstock and boy tag, AAS puffy letter stickers, brads and wires, assorted ribbons and laces.

Kids are finally back to school and so am I! I had my first day of teaching in college level last Tuesday and it was really FUN. Another kind of challenge and adjustments for me, but so far my first week was pleasant and hassle free. I have been scrapping in between days of work and I aim to finish by this weekend. Hopefully, I can play with ribbons by next week. There's just so much time to CREATE and I am loving every moment of it.

Thanks for looking and happy creative weekend peeps!

HK!

Took a little breather and headed to Hong Kong! Its been six years since I last visited this island and although it was my 5th time to come here, I still love going back to HONG KONG!

Took the night tour for my Day 1, cost about $340HK for a Tram ride going up Victoria Peak, Madam Taussad's Wax Museum and an hour shopping at the Ladies market in Mongkok. A little expensive but its all worth it specially now that I got to see the famous wax museum. Plus I get a free ride going back to my far-away hotel.

Day 2: Spent the whole day outside! Woke up early to catch breakfast at Cafe Lido. Then took the morning city tour which I always join everytime I go to HK. First stop was Aberdeen's Fishing Village and then saw the beaches of Repulse Bay, where the riches of HK lives. Then went to TSL jewelry shop which I'd seen for the Nth time (eww!) and the t-shirt factory were I got our favorite dates and walnut bars. Then after that, dropped off to Tsim Sha Tsui where I get to walk and walk until I reached Ocean Terminal Mall to looked for glues.

I love eating around in HK... look! Found a street food store before at Mongkok night market, love the fried octopus tentacles!

I travelled alone, no kids for the first time! And so I get to relax a bit from Mommy duties. Here's my hotel facilities... got a buffet breakfast for $30HK, yummy! Then my bed was the best, I wanted to bring home my pillow and blanket. Then my favorite spot in the room was the big window overlooking the sea and the huge bridge on top. Tseun Wan was like 45 minutes away from the city proper and was quite hard to reach, and so I got to indulge my last day just laying on my bed and watching TV.

I love this trip... I was alone but I was happy and I enjoyed it! Now, I'm planning to come back soon, with the kids! Oh wondering how I got photoed? Thanks to some new friends who offered to take pictures of me, and thanks to my DSLR timer too!

TFL always!

SAM's Ribbons

I opened an online store last month selling baby hair bow and customized head pieces. Here are some of my designs...

Ally's Collection
is our floral line.

Pia's Collection
is the stripe, checkered and star printed line.

Fern's Collection
is the double bow design line.

Max's Collection
is the big girls line.

Lara's Collection
is the dainty colored line.

Marie's Collection
is the twisted fabric line.

I used a lot of soft-wired, grosgrained, silk and organza ribbons on my baby-design bands. While I used fabrics like bridal satin, cotton and gina cloth for Marie's Collection. I used fabric bands like towel type and knitted for the babies, while I have this glittered elastics for the adults bands.

I was a little busy this past few days working on ribbon orders and finishing 2 scrapbook albums for US and Canada. Hoping that I can get going before I leave tomorrow. Got 9 units teaching load for an IT school which will be starting next week, so I need to start reading and preparing for that. My kids are both back to school and we are still adjusting to their morning routines. Hubby was busy with the recent fish kill in Batangas province. Sooo, everyone is on the MOVE!

Hope to be scrapping today! Thanks for looking peep!

Sketchabilities #48!

Happy 1st of June everyone! And its time for another inspiring sketch over at Sketchabilities. Our guest designer is Ms. Bente Fagerberg and the rest of the design teams' layout can be seen here. And here's what I made for sketch #48...

Proud of You!... We are truly proud of this kid, his graduation ceremony was doubled with his recognition rites and we were surprised to learn that he was the Logical Math-Time Smart Awardee. We love you Chuwee! I used here DCWV cardstock and pps, Creative Imaginations pps, native twine, MM mini brads, Prima journaling stickers, AAS chipboard and puffy alphabet stickers.

God is always GOOD... when a door slammed right on your face, He opens a window. In my case, He opened lots of windows! I had a big blow last month and I had a big fall and it took awhile to get up on my feet again. I initially thought about my kids, maybe I had a wake up call to get back to them and take care of them again since they're both moving up in school. Then I thought of doing something while I stay at home again, I opened an online store catering my crafts. I went back to scrapbook services and photography. And now, I am both excited and nervous for a teaching demo tomorrow. Yes! I'm back to teaching but this time with bigger kids and hopefully a BETTER school.

At this point, I am so THANKFUL to the Lord! I owe it also to my family who is very supportive specially my Mom who always gives me this extra PUSH, my Auntie Linda and Uncle Bill in Delaware who are so generous in giving me everything that I wish to play. My bestfriends (you know who you ARE!) who are always there thru thick and thin and my LB Scrapaholics sisters who never left me even though I was away when I was teaching in Calauan. Most of all, THANK YOU sunlight for always coming after each challenging dark night!

I'm UP and back to the grind! Thanks for always looking!
