Game On!

Mystical Scrapbooks of Australia came up with the Game On Challenge on June 9, 2008. Through their weekly scrap requirements, I was able to finished 8 layouts, all inspired by different board games. Here are my layouts...

Challenge 1-Connect 4
The first round asked for 4 connecting circles, the circles must either overlap or intertwine with each other, scrap 4 photos and use of 2 colors only, one of which must be either blue or red. I used the photos of my boys during their little camp out and I used black for my first color and shades of blue for the second.

Camp Out

Challenge 2-Monopoly
The requirements for this round is to choose one of the following properties and use the coordinating techniques (Strand, is to incorporate stitching; Bow Street, use of ribbons; Regent Street, put a crown; Park Lane, put flowers or foliage; The Angel islington, put wings). The titles must include the word Chance or Go. And must use no more than 6 items on the page (as it is up to a 6 player game). I choose Strand and so I stitched in my layout (as usual, hehehe!). And my 6 items were pps, cardstock, DMC gold thread, buttons, chipboard for my titles and ink. Been wanting to scrap our underwater photos... finally its done!

Go Underwater
Challange 3-Pictionary
For this round we should follow a sketch. Doodling must be prominent and there must be a use one embellishment in the title, example for the word love you would put a heart embellishment. My doodling style is very limited and I can only do this much. Then I used a plastic embellishment with an engraved star in the center. I love these photos of my two boys, actually I scrapped these photos twice!

My Lucky Stars

Challenge 4- Trivial Pursuit
It was getting harder I guess... week 4's challenge was to scrap using any of the pie colors pink, blue, yellow, brown, green and orange. The titles must be a question and must have a journalling of more that 3 sentences and must answer the question or the titles. Here was my take for that week's challenge...

Are you both sick?

Challenge 5-Scrabble
The requirement for this week was to use block letters for the titles and use 1 inch squares or cubes on the layout. Remember the scoring instructions written on the scrabble tiles? A triple letter score, pretained to the use of 3 colors only in the layout. While a double letter score required to put 2 photos only! I scrapped Enzo's school photos and gave this layout as a little something to Teacher Helga. I love the Prima paper and essential flower that I used here, matched perfectly to my black, olive green and white motiff.

Teacher Helga

Challenge 6-Checkers
The challenge for this week was to use the colors black, white or cream & red only! There must be a layered embellishment in the layout and must put a crown somewhere. That week, my nephew DK was born and I was soooo excited to start scrapping his first album. And so he will be my subject in the future...

Precious Little One

Challenge 7-Twisters
The requirement for this week was to use at least 4 different colors, put circles in the layout and must use the technique on layering. I love the colors that I choose blue, green, brown and white. Chatterbox stripes pps matched perfectly on masculine layouts. This is my cousin Jonjo, the proud first time dad..

Proud Dad

Challenge 8-Guess Who?
The final week's challenge was to scrap one portrait type of photo and the journaling must describe the personality or the physical traits of the chosen person. I choose to scrap Luigi this time. This is one rare moment that I caught him smiling. This picture was taken last summer during one of our escapades.

Live, Love, Laugh

I think this is our last week for the Game On Challenge, I wonder what will happen next week. I had fun and I finished 8 layouts... Thanks Sara and Mystical Scrapbooks!

Thanks for looking...

Another Tag!

Here's another tag from my friend Timi! You have to answer some scrappy questions here and find out what scrapbooking item are you?

I am a GLUE!
You are the adhesive that keeps things together. You go through life helping others. You stick to people and try to keep people together. You like it best when you are surrounded by people and able to help them. But Glue Beware - in your efforts to keep everyone together and with you, you sometimes overlook yourself and find it hard to keep yourself together. Don't neglect personal time in your overwhelming need to socialize and help others.

PLAYERS: THE SCRAPAHOLIC ME - stickers, A HANDFUL OF SURPRISES/MY PAPER SCRAPS, Dianne is paper, MY JOURNEY TO THE WORLD OF SCRAPBOOKING, Timi is paper, SCRAPPIN' AND EVERYTHING, Issa is Glue.

ADD YOUR SITE AND SCRAPBOOKING ITEM. Now I'm passing the Tag to Wati, Liza Yet, Jazz, Cookie, Sara and Jessy.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I'm Back at Back Porch Memories...

Thanks to Dinah for her challenge for this month! She asked for an "All Paper Layout", meaning we can use patterned paper, corrugated paper and/or cardstock. Everything must be made from paper including the title, embellishments, journaling sheet, etc. We can do whatever technique we want with the papers.

I made this page for my niece Francheska... she's the "beauty and brains" daughter of my cousin Aries and wife Mylin. She graduated from Pre-school last March at the Dominican School of Calabanga, Bicol Province. I used here Chatterbox, Stemma, Anne Griffin, Autumn Leaves pps, CI journaling sticker, cardstock, corrugated board and foam tapes. I did handcutting, paper punches, and paper tearing for my techniques. I must say that I am now comfortable with a slanting photo... hehehe! Here's my layout...

Super SCRAPJAM!

Grabe na ito... super FUN talaga ang Scrapjam yesterday!

It was held at Nenette Madero's beautiful home in Ayala Alabang. My Little Attic and Scrapbooks Hawaii surely know how to capture the hearts of the scrapbookers, kaya naman super loaded of fun ang buong araw. There were projects taught by Ms. Marissa, lots of raffles, the Scrapjam Bingo and a lot of throw away goodies. Plus I get to see again my online friends like Ella and Ariel Go, Cookie Aguilar, Candy Lagazon and Cabbie Lopez. It turned out to be a great event again... Thank you so much for the wonderful time, Nette and Marisa!

Shopping
My first stop... SHOPPING GALORE! Although I have a couple of pre-orders at SBH, I don't want to miss shopping for papers and cardstocks. MLA has the best Bazzill cardstocks and I got all the colors that I need. I also got the Scenic Route Liberty pps, can't wait to use them na!

Here are some more of my purchases... love the Prima overlay and brads, Tim Holtz's grungeboard, BG Wilma chipboard and a lot more...

Here are our projects and FREEBIES! We made 4 projects... the Gift Bag, 2 CD Pocket Album, the elegant black Flip Flop Album, and a sweet Melissa Frances Card... and they were all so beautiful! Then I got a Keepsake key chain, a Bazzill mini album and MM foam stamps from the raffle. Thank you so much for the bag of freebies!

Scrapping
The theme of the challenge was Friendship. Then we have to use the Bazzill fancy edges cardstock, loopy embellishment and the Anne Griffin paper included in the challenge kit. I used Enzo's school pictures with his classmates and service mates. Here's my take on the challenge...

The Joy of Childhood and Friendship

Timi made this layout for me... it was her entry on the main challenge and later gave it to me. Thanks BF Timi!

Thanks for looking!

Welcome Li'l One...

Oh how I wish my favorite Uncle Oboy was still alive! This sweet baby is his first grandchild and his name is DAVID KARL or DK for short. I wonder where my cousin Jonjo got his name, but how I wish he add in his late father's name LUIS. DK was born yesterday July 5 at the Pamana Hospital in Calamba, Laguna. DK is the 6th grandchild in our family and the
2nd Virtucio in his generation.

Oh God, I'm so excited to be Auntie again!
