Ribbons for Headbands!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I thought this would be the best way to unwind from work and regain the much-needed faith and belief that sustain us Catholics. Holy Week is now being celebrated—a sacred commemoration of the life, passion, and death of Jesus Christ. There are many ways to observe it: hearing Mass, joining foot processions, attending church vigils, going on visita iglesia, and even taking a quiet side trip to the beach for reflection.

This year, however, Mommy is sick for the second time. It’s always the cough and colds that bring her down. Still, with the pneumonia and flu vaccines she received last year, I believe she’ll recover soon and be back to enjoying life—attending gatherings and dancing with her friends once again.

I know I have to take care of my sanity too! With the stress of caring for my Mom, I had to find a joyful outlet. So I opened my craft cabinets and found my four trays of ribbons. I decided to make headbands and clips as giveaways for the flower girls at my son’s upcoming wedding.

And so… here goes—one ribbon, one moment of calm, and one act of love at a time.

Headbands... This was once my business before I went to teaching. Its so amazing and therapeutic in making them since then. I used my old ribbons, some hot glue and ordered the satin cloth covered headbands from shopee which happily arrived yesterday. I am still waiting for the metal clips for the pony tails. I’m truly excited. Sometimes, returning to what once made us happy is exactly what we need to feel whole again.

Hope to share more on our wedding preps!

SAM's Ribbons

I opened an online store last month selling baby hair bow and customized head pieces. Here are some of my designs...

Ally's Collection
is our floral line.

Pia's Collection
is the stripe, checkered and star printed line.

Fern's Collection
is the double bow design line.

Max's Collection
is the big girls line.

Lara's Collection
is the dainty colored line.

Marie's Collection
is the twisted fabric line.

I used a lot of soft-wired, grosgrained, silk and organza ribbons on my baby-design bands. While I used fabrics like bridal satin, cotton and gina cloth for Marie's Collection. I used fabric bands like towel type and knitted for the babies, while I have this glittered elastics for the adults bands.

I was a little busy this past few days working on ribbon orders and finishing 2 scrapbook albums for US and Canada. Hoping that I can get going before I leave tomorrow. Got 9 units teaching load for an IT school which will be starting next week, so I need to start reading and preparing for that. My kids are both back to school and we are still adjusting to their morning routines. Hubby was busy with the recent fish kill in Batangas province. Sooo, everyone is on the MOVE!

Hope to be scrapping today! Thanks for looking peep!

Flowers and Bows

After spending some time watching flower making in You Tube, I wanted to create my own line of flowers for scrapbooking. We all know that these embellishments are quite expensive and are not always available. But after gathering all my rolls of ribbons and started playing with them, I ended up making huge ones that are not appropriate for a layout. Hmmmm... now comes another thought of creating, thought of making some hair ornaments just like my old business when I was in college. Here's what I came up to...

I used here double-sided wired ribbons and grossgrained ribbons, my grandma's old zippers, threads, glue sticks and elastic headbands.

I just love them all! Happy creating! TFL!
