2017 Project Life

It's the Christmas Holidays... but it does not feel like a holiday! It has been raining since three days ago and we cannot even go out.

I spend the whole day facing my little laptop. First, I studied my lectures and made handouts for the coming midterms. Then, I made my OJT report using a new template. I cleaned up my files on my phone and eventually,  my 2018 picture folders on my storage. And lastly, I blogged!

Its time for my Project Life and 2017 was super late... here goes!

2017 Project Life... I used all my old stash. The most striking part here was I used diecuts for the months of the year. Life was really good and the year was full of happy memories, as ever.

Thanks for looking!

@ 50!

I turned 50 last week... 50 years of happiness, challenges, hardwork, accomplishments, contentment and just everything! 21 years were spent studying, 26 years were building a family, 18 years of Scrapbooking, 11 years of doing business and 9 years of teaching.

And so, its time to give back the blessings through sharing and celebrating my happy 50 years... and a lot more to count! I did all the preparations from making the invites, sewing the eyes of the owls down to the menu selection. I wanted to do a lot more, but time did not permit me.

Every celebration highlights food... I had Spice Jar to cater the appetizer bar. There were different kinds of cheeses, cured meat, pickles, nuts, buscuits and bread. The dessert bar was made by Pola, an HRM student of our school. We had mango and strawberry cream, chocolate cake pops, cookie-fruit cake from a cousin-pastry chef and my special carrot bunt birthday cake. The main course were home made cooking by my Mom and son, Luigi. We had fresh lumpiang ubod, chicken tropical, pork caldereta, beef with brocolli, fried chicken wings and fish fillet with choices of dip, tartar, barbecue sauce and tomato catsup, japchai and chicken pesto pastas. And the fun begun!

Family and friends came to celebrate with me. Friends and bestfriends from certain phases of my life all came. Marife, a childhood friend way back pre-school and godmother of my first born. Mae, my confidante, cross stitching buddy and godmother of my second child. Timi, my crafting and shopping buddy. I love them all! My childhood friends while we were still living in our ancestral home in Crossing. My GE family who were very supportive at work and play. My cousins, Janice, Maan and Mayee who helped me thru all my planning. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My cousins Janice and Maan, gave me Tiger Haworthia plants as my party give aways. I also sewed 40 pieces of stuffered owls, which I will share soon. Thanks to them!

It has been a week since I turned 50... but the love and thoughtfulness of my family and friends are still pouring.

Best of all, I THANK the Good Lord for giving all these blessings to me. Without his love and guiding hands, I will not be here. Now my wish from Him, is another 50 years of life, hahaha! Honestly, I love my life! We make our own lives, but mine is simply tailored for me... I am an obedient daughter, a spoiled sister, a happy wife, a spoiler mother, a hoarder-crafter, a cool teacher, a leader and a happy child of God.

Thank you Lord for the 50 years!

Seoul Searching!

It was spring time in South Korea, but it was a winter experience for me!

On to my second destination with the LB Scrapaholics ladies... I had the chance to travel again with Dras. Rita Vergara and Chiqui Gutierrez, Ate Liezl Arellano, Cors Mijares, Helga Vergara and my BFF Timi Mercado on April 2-7, 2018.

 Hello Seoul, South Korea!

Day 2: A whole day of FUN at Everland. This is their themed park in Korea. For this season, they featured the Tulip Festival. There were different rides, a parade and a stretch of other adventures and restaurants.

Day 3:  A morning walk at the Garden of Morning Calm, where they have a bonsai collection and newly planted tulips. They were getting ready for the change of season from winter to spring. And in the afternoon, we had a ferry ride going to the Island of Nami. This place is famously seen in Korean movies and telenobelas.

Day 4:  We went on a hop-on-hop-off city tour the whole day. The first stop was the Seoul City Hall where we saw the changing of the guards in a nearby palace. Then we went to the Bokchon Hanbok Village.  We were able to wear their national costume called Hanbok in this village.  Plus I get to see the fresh pinky Cherry Blossoms in the park. Next was the Namsan Tower. It was freezing cold that we were not able to walk more to see the tower. The last was the Gyeongbokgung Palace, it was just sad that the weather was not favorable and the palace closed in a few minutes after we arrived.

Then I had dinner with relatives, I met my cousin-inaanak Grace Choi who was married to a Korean. Got to meet her husband and kids too, my apos... Yoonha is so charming and baby Yoonjeong smells sooo heavenly. We had chicken on a huge plate and a lot of stories afterwards.

The food in Korea is something new to my taste. I did not see fish on their menus, but instead they call it seafood which is basically live squids. Koreans have this hot plate where you cook fresh beef and pork meat, amazingly it tastes so good even without marinades. They are known for Bulgogi and Bibimbop as we have them here in the Philippines. I always had a hearty breakfast in the hotel, loaded with a good cup of coffee, fresh croissants and a Korean touch of rice balls or noodles.

Day 5: A free day with BFF Timi. We just walked around Myeongdong Street until we reached Diaso. The Daiso store in Korea had 12 floors, but only 8 floors were loaded with exciting things. We had 2 trips in this tall building and just walked and walked until it was time to head for the airport.

The Seoul Searching ended with tones of memories and a-19.2 kilos of luggage. I will never forget the spring weather which was for me, WINTER at 6 degrees! My fingers were painful because of the freezing cold weather. The rain in Korea was like baby showers which was not even considered as ambon (as we call it in the Philippines). The street foods which was quite pricey at P150.00 per serving but were mouth watering. The left and right beauty stores which was really tempting to splurge. Plus the many minutes of just sitting and watching the STI Senior Highschool graduation which was on live streaming, because the wifi system was really awesome. God I missed this event! I wish I can bring my kids in this place, the weather is so perfect for them.

I got new memories to add in my piggy bank of life.
Yeah, life is really good... Thank you Lord!

Project Life Catch up!

Hello everyone, I'm back!

Funny that I only get to blog during Holy week because its a long 4-day holiday in the Philippines. And for years, me and my family just stay at home and reflect on our Catholic faith. At the same time, I get to dust off the 4 corners of my home, hahaha! I just love staying at home... tiding up the rooms and closets, cooking a bit and just staying in my scraproom for hours.

I decided to catch up on my Project Life backlog, its 7 months delayed! So, September, October, November and December 2017 are on progress. Journaling and embellishing some more to finish them soon. Here goes...

I used assorted papers such as Echo Park Papers, Simple Stories, Project Life Papers, cardstocks, Ms. Sparkle & Co.'s burlap tags, baker's twine, washi tapes, the Paper Studio's Stick.a.bilities stickers, and buttons. I scrapped a bit slow maybe because I enjoyed looking at the photos and remembered every single memory it gave. I am just happy to play again.

Promise to post my 2017 Project Life soon... :)
