Scrappin' Mom's Idol is finally over... tapos na rin ang sleepless nights, pressured and panic moments. I was able to make it to the top 6 and that pa lang is a very big achievement for me. I'm so happy for the experience, many lessons learned and the friendships I made during this 2-month challenge. And to all the members of the Scrappin' Moms... Salamat sa inyong lahat and Congratulations for the success of this challenge! To the 1st IDOL, Cabbie Jane Lopez and to the rest of the finalist, Congratulations too and nice taking the flight with you guys! And now, I'm so excited to post my experiences and entries...
Ellimination Round: "Scraplift your Idol", the challenge is to copy a layout of your favorite international scrapbooking idol and I choose CD Muckosky. I entirely copied her layout "Just Me" and mine is entitled "Issa"...
Round 2: "What's your Color?", the challenge is to use monochromatic shades of the color of your choice, one word title and the journaling should be visible in the layout. My entry is entitled "Pasaway", a title given by Cors. Enzo was so pasaway, that every afternoon he would water the plants in Mommy's garden and later jump into his favorite "batya". I was crying to Ate Liezl the afternoon I was supposed to upload this entry, I had the hardest time taking shots on this one because I only have a 3 mega pixel easy share camera.
Round 3: "Alter It!", the challenge is to repurpose a household item using 3 non-scrapbooking materials. I altered an old desk calendar and turned it into a recipe book holder of my Mommy's Secret Recipes. I must admit, this was the round I thought I would be finally elliminated! Thanks to Gee, Helga's husband for taking shots on this round.
Round 4: "What's in a Photo" , challenge is to use one photo (a photo of any object that is a significant in your life), two fabrics, three words in the title and four kinds of embellishments. My entry is entitled "In my Heart..". Every year during all Saint's Day, I always bring flowers and an angel candle for Maxine. Then I take pictures of it as souvenirs and keep it in her baby book. This was the first time I scrapped a page for her.
Round 5: "No Photos Allowed", challenge is not to use pictures but instead memorabilia or ephemera only, needs sewing and doodling, adhere a flower, a metal embelishment and a pocket, and use of rub-ons and chipboard. I made this layout entitled "Dear Maxine". This was the first time I wrote about the whole story of my angel Maxine. It was more than six years ago and up to now, it's still hurting me...
Round 6: "Words from the Heart", challenge is to make a spread using a picture not smaller than 5r size, use of papers from 3 different manufacturers, paint, stamp using non-scrapbooking tools and incorporate a quote that will match the theme. My entry is entitled "After the storm... Life goes on". I don't have new family pictures and since I have a new camera, I decided to go out and take some shots. Dodo and I loved the sight of the fallen tree beside the UPLB Auditorium, so the boys played for a while before we finally posed. Thanks to Yvette for taking our pictures.

Round 1:"Stuck on Cardstock", the challenge is to use cardstocks only and no printed papers, 50% of the base cardstock should be visible. I love this photo of Enzo, this was taken in one of our vacations in Baguio when he was still learning to walk. The title of this is "First Steps...to the colorful world of Life."

Glad that you did well in the contest. Your Mommy and Auntie Linda and I have just finished checking out your latest blog.
I'm biased, but I think you have a terrific blog as well as a very creative talent for scrap booking.
Your Mommy is bringing home lots of scrap booking stuff for you.
